I saw on another messageboard that Nitro's going up to over $1600 a Barrel in Denver, can anybody verify?

i was quoted right at $2,000 for the last drum i tried to get my hands on... and it was 44 gallons :(

Since I was told I'm never positive by someone one here, I guess that 1000 ft racing will atleast cut down on some of the nitro cost!

Is this the Don's nitro, or the stuff they are pedaling that is being cut with a heavier substance to make an 80% nitro mixture actually read 85% on specific gravity testing equipment?

(Woops, did I say that out loud?)

They (NHRA) found enough courage to shorten the track for TF & FC (I agree with), but still can't find enough to say "uncle" to Don. NHRA must have that same problem the Fonz had when saying "I was wr.......on....g" or "I'm so.........rr....y".

what would the fuel consumption be in the last 320 feet of a run

Roughly about a gallon to a gallon and a half for the last 320 feet. By my uneducated guess, they will save about 3-4 drums per event between FC and TF by moving to a 1000'. We are also losing about 26,000 feet of racing over the weekend or about 19 full passes!

Don- Priceless!

Since NHRA is a "non-profit" organization, should they consider subsudizing the cost of nitro?

I know this has been beat up.
My client, makers of EnSolv, a "green" solvent that uses nitro, told me their latest shipment of nitro cost $1150 for each 55 gallon drum of 100%.
So much for paying $1800 for 40 gallons.

Note: I know nothing about image editing....so this looks like a pre-schooler could probably have done better...

for the last 320 feet it about 3/4 of a gallon for a savings of 27 dollors
