I used to think the only difference was the massive rear spoiler and spill plates on the fuel bodies, but I think the nitro versions are built with a lot more downforce from bumper to bumper.
 
Why make a 2015 Camaro fuel fc body when the 2016 will be smaller, and styled different than the current model and will be built on GM's Cadillac ATS compact-car chassis.

Good point since the 2016's shift to a different platform will be the way Camaros look for several years following. Maybe that's why they are saying the new body won't be ready until 2016 - because it will be based on this style instead of the current model?

Had to laugh at this comment by R&T's reporter: "The shape of the headlights looks... almost like the 2015 Mustang..." Maybe John convinced the Chevy designers to adopt a similar look to the Mustang to further blur the lines while using the existing bodies :D
