What is the consensus from the panel of experts on the Mater concerning Dr. Metz and the NHRA. I have been anxiously awaiting for someone to chime in on this one?
Well according to NHRA he has a lot of experiance but it doesn't really say he was involved in drag racing. It is a shame that NHRA kicks out a bunch of people with a bunch of knowledge dealing with fuel cars and chassis design to bring the Dr. on board with I am sure a high salary. Where I work the mechanical engineers that we have are either hands on knowledgable or gone (DOD contracter). The "vehicle dynamics" knowledge the Dr. has is going out the door with the violent nature of Top Fuel and Funny Car requiring hands on chassis design knowledge and the ever changing different track conditions. Just my two cents but I think I would rather have some of the old more knowledgable people in my corner like Don Long, Uyehara,Bob Meyer or the late Al Swindal. Again I have nothing against engineers and I hope that this Dr. can help us and not hinder us. No one else was ringing in so I thought I would.
i googled him the other day.
found stuff about this recent position with nhra, but not much else.
the key to this is results, let's hire this guy along with whoever else
is on 'the team', make the necessary design changes and then move on.
this shouldn't take a year to do.......we'll see.
