NHRA announces some additional new fees

NHRA announces additional fees

Wednesday, April 08, 2009

Effective immediately, NHRA is installing new competition fees, including paying for the use of electricty to turn on win lights. The new fees for these services are reflected in the forms available online at NHRA licensing and physical forms.

NHRA has not raised fees in more than a decade, and, given the current economic environment, NHRA needs to adjust fees to help offset some of the increased costs for these services. In addition, and at national events, NHRA will include the cost for activation of the starting system better known as the “Christmas Tree” with a redlight surcharge if necessary.

It should be noted that these fees, even as increased, do not cover the costs for Sportsman programs as they use more electricty then the pros. Full tree vs Pro tree. NHRA will not continue to subsidize costs to provide these programs. NHRA remains committed to Sportsman racing, and these increases will assist us in being able to continue to provide premier racing programs at the national, divisional, and local level.

That was pretty good, John. I guess we could always go back to the flag starts. Yea, yea, that's the ticket.

Thanks It helps to have a little humor now & then. Especially in light of recent NHRA activity;)

'Kinda reminds one of the increasingly "clever" Federal, State, and local government taxing authorities.

Talk about taxing the air we breathe......

Thanks, I needed that. :)

FYI, the IHRA sent an email out to members saying there will be NO increase in competition fees. That's one for the circus boys.:)
