-------it all depends on whose sitting around me, Im short, I gotta hop on the seat to see the second half of the race almost always. Tall people to the rear!
I see a lot of subjective and variable terms in those rules. Adequate liability insurance? What's "adequate"? Whatever seems adequate to you? Do you think they maybe should have included a NUMBER to go by? Did someone pull those rules out of their a$$ or what?
I wanna see the vehicle that gets kicked for ANY of the rules under #1.
#3. You just need to call your "necessary" (Who gets to define that?) trip something other than "Joyriding, cruising, or recreational riding"
#5. Is Barney going to be in the pits with a radar gun now? Are we going to see radar detectors on golf carts? Will they then ban radar detectors on pit vehicles? Will owners then go to hiding the undetectable radar detectors?
To be quite honest, I didn't notice all that much of a difference at Brainerd. If the drivers are supposed to have driver's licenses, they're handing them out at a pretty young age. I saw several "youngsters" on scooters that couldn't have been older than 12 or 13.
Man, its not just kids--its adults too, although I admit the kids make me extra pissed. Had the door of my dually dented at Super Chevy Memphis by a racer who rolled up on his 4 wheeler and hopped off to watch the races. Only problem was he left it out of gear and it rolled into my truck. Could not count the times I have almost been run over on foot by somebody running 40 mph on a damn 4 wheeler or golf cart. Its amazing there hasnt been a big law suit over somebody getting hit by one of these.
I think it was Tom Lemon years ago who told me someone actually jumped in front of (or under) his truck or race car at Pomona while he towing his TA/FC back to the pits. He slammed on the brakes and told the guy to get the fudge outta there. What do you think that idiot had on his mind?
I wonder if Tom could have sued him for bloodying up the undercarriage.
