Do any of the National Events have "alcohol free" sections in the stands? Every short track race I go to does.

Barry, Honestly, It's not in the stands that bothers me, it's that someone my size could drink over a 6 pack, then wander around the pits... and believe me, a hundred fifty pounds on six foot plus doesn't process beer quickly... I'd be better off doing bourbon and cokes... at least People would know I was drunk and not just stupid...

You all seem to be concentrating on just racers. The companies that participate in the Midway atmosphere are also contributing to the congestion mess. Add on to that what always seems to be some sort of chauffeur business that ferries VIP's with large fat asses around are out amongst the crowds and it's a mess. Then the all the other vendors have their business of getting stuff to their booths including food and beverage. Perhaps some sort of LARGE ID and only one per vendor/racer and that it's easily identifiable and the rest get booted, might cut down on the problem. Everybody has an excuse why they are so important and how did we get along for so many years without them?

Norwalk has a couple "family" sections where alcohol isnt supposed to be allowed.

As do I......

I get tired of the drunks.......

Ill 4th that.

After the shows over or maybe during the last session of pros is fine with me.

Who needs a bunch of staggering drunks around a bunch of expensive equipment, getting in the way of teams.

No offense to anyone that can hold their alcohol but seriously who needs to be drunk all day? Why spend $$ to come to the track and not remember anything from being drunk the whole time?

Got into it with some1 at Norwalk two years ago because they were tanked and almost hit me and my fiancee with their golf cart.

My $.02

I like the rule, there are just WAY too many carts and scooters running through the pits. I understand that the racers need them, but there are too many pedestrians for the number of carts and not working with a team.

I like the rule to.
We have had this rule now in Division 4 for the last 2 years. I mean its only $10, and its for any NHRA TRACK. I find that it has really helped with the mass confusion in the pics with the golf carts, scooters, etc

When you see a semi unloading carts for rent..is what bugs me. Shouldn't be allowed to park up to the fence..period.

I don't have an issue with the crews using them..responsibly..but the general public pi*ses me off..lazy basta*ds.

I park along the fence all the time. One, I don't get a reserved seat, and two, sometimes I want to watch the sportsman finish line race.

I don't mind the license, the insurance, all that stuff. I have it already, but it's not just the racers and midway people who have control of their own actions. Spectators and pedestrians need to pay attention and be responsible too.

I don't have an issue with carts being used responsibly, Jenn..and I'll pay attention to where and what I'm doing. It's the recklessness that bothers me..mostly from the public renting carts.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. People are not very heads up when they're walking around the pits and will walk in front of you even while your honking the horn.

Right of way in the pits.

#1 emergency vehicles.

#2 race cars under power.

#3 race cars being towed by pit vehicles.

#4 Pedestrians.

#5 Pit vehicles.

#4 Pedestrians.

#5 Pit vehicles.

These should be swapped. If you spectators want to see a good show, the pit guys need to be able to get around to get their stuff ready to give it to them. I've had to run to the midway for parts to be repaired by the reps there at the track, I've had to go get fuel, go take parts from the pit to the lanes when there's been a sudden problem.

And should be posted in a large format at the gates.

Alan R says it Every Sunday Morning... but in a Lot of ways, I think too nicely.

Personally, I would NOT mind paying an extra $20 a day for a Pit Pass, But, You have to be an NHRA Member.

I love that idea. But you'd have to fence off the pits (like they do in all other motorsports) and put rent-a-cops at all the entrances. And then there's the "every ticket's a pit pass!!" line that'd have to change.

So how is the new rule about pit bikes being accepted now that theres been a couple of races with the new rule in effect?

Ok...since we've broached the subject of pet peeves...here's mine...
IF EVERYONE SITS DOWN...EVERYONE CAN SEE...there I said it...flame away...
