Maple Grove :(

Thanks much for the up-date. How does Fri. look??
Paul, that Hurricane is just setting south of Florida,, they're saying if goes towards land it might be Tuesday before it gets Philly now what goes on between now then not sure. Now if it takes eruo route it will go out to sea that 's what you want. I don't know if the people up there could handle another Sandy.

The eye goes out to sea; the leading edge is all rain, and swinging northeast in a counter-clockwise rotation. It'll be wet by Saturday :(

Maybe Eugene can chime in let us know what it's like at track.

I think the race in Dover will be postponed.

At the track? Friday morning. Rain. What else is new? Been sitting here far too long with no cars going down the track and no promise as to when they will.

I was ready to roll out at 7. I live just shy of 3 hours away, but I'm watching a very unpromising radar.

I am staying about 45 minutes from the track and it's wet. The forecast for tomorrow (40% chance of AM showers) and Sunday (cloudy 20% chance of a shower) is much better. Pretty confident we will get 2 sessions tomorrow and race on Sunday, it's going to be cold out so that might hamper the track prepping. The hurricane is going to be so far out to sea it will have zero impacts on Reading with the exception of some windy conditions due to the pressure gradients.

Dover Nascar race has been canceled for today. Not far from NHRA race at Reading. Weather looks solid green today, I guess I will leave my picks on PTW and take my chances.

What a stressful time for the crew chiefs in the Countdown. It's bad enough when it all goes as planned, but now we are looking at 2 shots on a very green new track with cold temps, and who knows if the rubber will even stick to the surface all that great.

For those who always say they like a challenge... sounds as though they'll have one!

On the other hand....

We ran at Pomona in 2011 at 53° with a 68° track temp.

Track temps under 60 are very difficult to get a hold of. Tomorrow Wil be interesting here with the forecasted high to be 54. When I left the track today around 3 the density altitude was -1270 ft.
