Maple Grove Friday (11 Viewers)

We went to Maple Grove yesterday and was so disappointed in the music being played even over the burnouts!
The total lack of any real talk about the race by the announcers really got my attention. One of the Pro Stock cars posted a 6.09 and nothing from Joe Castello!
I realize this is entertainment but how about keeping us informed. I'm really starting to miss Alan Reinhart.

Who or what ran 6.09?

I agree, a couple people on that announcing team need to go. Pure laziness at times.

I give Alan credit, he always stuck his head inside the trailer to say hello and see what we've been up to. Even if it was just for a couple minutes.

I was there, and the announcer did mention the 6.09 was not a real time. And then mentioned that the bump spot was wrong because it had the inaccurate Eric Latino time. So, I'm not sure when your ears turned off, but if you go back and listen to NHRA.tv, it will confirm what I heard.

NHRA/Maple Grove is doing what they think they need to do to attract and hold the under 35 generation. Big mistake because it's us old timers with the disposable income going to the race and we hate that sh** not to mention the lame announcers. NHRA made a big mistake when they failed to come to terms with Alan.
Personally I don't think that's what's happening. It's just a slightly different direction to shift the talent around. I do agree that Alan needs to come back.

Indeed. 6.09 is not possible, even for a MM Pro Stock. Something probably tripped the ET beam early (frog, hot dog wrapper, etc.). There were some other glitches in Pro Stock - Brandon Miller ran 6.61@29mph and Eric Latino, who made a strong pass, recorded a 99-second ET with no MPH.

Looks like Erica got her quick RT's back, at least for this race. Isn't she in a different car (X-Stanfield) now? I still think the other car was at least partially responsible for a season's worth of lackluster lights and 60' times.
