In light of WJ’s new book, I was wondering what’s going on with his son Kurt Johnson. Warren and his wife, occasionally show up to a race or in the media in some fashion. Most pro stock guys who have retired or quit racing (Yates, Connolly Edwards etc.) has come back in some form as crew for other teams or even race in other less expensive categories. has Kurt completely washed his hands of racing and either has more activities in his life that doesn’t allow time for any racing or perhaps he see’s helping another team as a form of betrayal towards his father. I would think KJ would be an asset to any team, with his years of experience and his dad is just a phone call away. Warren’s wife occasionally chimes in on the message boards and maybe she has an answer?

I think Kurt’s busy running the engine shop…. Besides, quite a few former racers couldn’t even watch it on TV let alone show up at the track or else be sucked back into racing 24/7. It’s been described like being a drug addict.
