Kinda silly super street question....

The index in Super Street is 10.90.

The Dodge Challenger hellcat runs high 10's with only drag radials.

Can someone conceivably enter the class with such a car with only mods being drag radials?

Also, if this was possible how would the racers with purpose-built racecars feel?

The car would need a rollbar and upgraded seat belt harness. Other than that I don't see an issue. Out here there are plenty of street cars than run S/ST. I don't know anyone who has an issue with it.

Doesn't super street require SFI approved flex plate ( fly wheel ) and an transmission containment devices as well as driveshaft hoops and an external engine shutoff. Perhaps the hellcat has those already.

Thanks Alan. Just curious, didn't NHRA "relax" the roll bar requirement for cars 2008 and newer? I heard that for '08 and newer you only need a roll bar if it breaks into the 9's. Or did a hear that wrong?

If it doesn't, you could always take it down to Oklahoma and run Street Outlaws with it.

I believe that the roll bar requirement is 11.49 for the newer cars. As for the SFI stuff and driveshaft loops, I'm not 100% sure but I will ask someone and let you know. Unless someone beats me to it.
