From what I saw this past year, they go out of their way to make sure
associate sponsors get plenty of coverage. So it's no wonder they get
good associate sponsors.

that's what teams need to do it seems that the major teams dont give associaties all of their money's worth. it's not just about a tv interview where the viewer is able to see the name, if kalitta can do it, why not all teams arrange things like they do with dhl, technicoat, rocky boots, red line oil, i know these names from what they have done. Just like what wilkerson did in vegas for summit. Yea primary has all the marbles, but let secondary have a marble every now and then.

Yes that's a good point; Ben & Todd & everybody at Kalitta have found somewhat of a niche, I believe. In this day and age, at least it gets your foot in the door with the sponsors. And you never know; after a few races as an associate, perhaps the reps come to some events, experience the whole FTDRS scene, maybe the car goes some rounds - and then maybe they're willing to take another step and run full-car sponsorship at a race. When Rocky Boots joined Connie's team as an associate - just by chance, Mr Kalitta won the next event, after they had just put the Rocky decals on the car 3 days earlier... that's a pretty good return on your investment - and you can bet the Rocky Rep was pretty happy

if you wanna get technical then technically kalitta works with hundreds of companies that are not involved in drag racing. Think of a company, I bet kalitta caters to them.
