Congrats Jay Payne

For those of you who don't know, Jay Payne ran 262.39 mph in round 1 of Top Alcohol Funny Car eliminations this afternoon in Sonoma. The run eclipses Frank Manzo's 262.33 mph world record which has stood as the top mark for over three years, and is backed up as the new TAFC speed record by Jay's earlier 261.52 mph pass in qualifying. It also gives Jay ownership of both ends of the TAFC world records. Congratulations Jay, Shelly and the crew! Go BAE

Congrats to Jay and Shelly and the gang. Another record bites the dust. Jay has come a long way from setting the record in SS/EA way back when we both were a lot younger.:D

That just got me thinking... I know it's not the first TAFC 260 pass, but It's hard to think that 22 years ago King Kenny went the first AAFC 260 in Gainesville (Semi Finals, against John Collins:D ) and who would have ever thought that was going to happen on that day.

Somehow I doubt in 2028 a TAFC will go 333, but hey you never know!
