Is it Hot enough for you? (1 Viewer)

Swooning Heat and Swilling Drinks !

Is been so hot and humid in Houston I had to buy a cover for the lap top to keep the sweat from dripping down into it and having it catch on fire like the one on the Net!

So where do they send me to finally get away from the heat and humidity??

New Orleans, the capitol of heat and humidity!

Look in the Dictionary under heat and humidity and it has a picture of downtown New Orleans!

Any one know if the Casino is back open in Harvey ??
Bet the air conditioning ain't the only thing cold there!
All work and no play make Larry a dull boy!
Yeah Boomtown thats it been a couple of years!

Geez Kelly and Larry S and all you Mater's that live on the Texas And Louisiana coast I will sell you my part of it cheap!
I want to lay around under that waterfall in that cove above Yellow Creek on Pickwick Lake Tennesee River.
Bet someone on here knows that place!
I did that one time and promply fell asleep and the outboard filled up with water from the waterfall and almost sank!
I'll check around for SKUZA sighting's
!

lol......poor Larry. I'm actually in Eastern Oklahoma this weekend. It was 108 degrees today, but the humidity is significantly lower! Downside is......it's Eastern Oklahoma. ;)

Hey now! I LOVE Eastern Oklahoma. I've been practically everywhere on that side of OK. My most favorite place to visit in OK is Tulsa and my least favorite is OKC. BLECH! :D

Downtown Phoenix today recorded 118 but the Northwest Valley, where we live, officially recorded 120. Unless you were at the Colorado River today, Havasu, Parker, Laughlin, Needles, etc. you weren't hotter anywhere in the U.S.
(and we recorded 22 percent humidity)
Just another day in paradise?

I'm just kidding....I love Oklahoma. I spent summers in Kiowa. I guess I really am an Okie at heart. ;)

It's only supposed to get to 89 today. Weird!

I love OKC and I've never been to Tulsa, though I've heard good things about it. It's been awhile but the last time I drove through Oklahoma on I-40 it was overcast, rainy, and I swear I thought I saw thousands of funnel clouds forming... maybe I was just a little paranoid. :p :)

I'm sick of this 100 degree weather...but part of that might have to do with the fact that the ac at work is not working....

As far as Oklahoma is concerned...I like visiting there...but don't want to live there...Naz maybe with the IHRA race in Tulsa next year you can make it over there...

Larry...I know exactly what you mean about that waterfall in TN....beautiful place...

Michele - When was the last time you were in OKC? The revitalization of downtown OKC over the last few years is nothing short of astounding!

I don't care what anybody else may think but that's just TOO DAMN HOT!!!

Hey it's RAINING!!!!! We haven't had rain for at least three weeks, and it's only 85 degrees with a high of 90 expected!!!! Hey Doc, now thats a Cold Front Huh? I might have to gather up some firewood for tonight, 71 for a low, burrrrrr. This beats the heck out of the 100plus we've all had to endure, and I do feel for the folks in the SW, 118-120 is HOT no matter how dry it is.

California's central valley...currently a nice comfortable 110...I run an auto shop, the shop is about 115, then consider the cars engine temp while your doing the a/c work (trust me, we have plenty of that to do) and you can lose a few pounds a day!

It was actually nice with the overcast in Southern Nevada today. Boy I sure do love big storm clouds since I've lived in Vegas. We had a few thunderstorms about a week and a half ago which were great. Hope to have some more soon.

Rain here & the city loses it's mind. :p Breaking News stuff... "a rain drop hit someone's car on the suface streets!"
I understand the "Flash Floods & Flood Warnings," that's serious stuff. Everything else though cracks me up. Come on Vegas, act like you've been there before... :p
:)

I remember living in Vegas a few years back and seeing cars stuck in three foot of water and just laughing at them. Having grown up in the Greater Seattle area, rain doesn't freak me out. In fact, I welcome it, especially after living in Vegas for 2 1/2 years.

I spent the day at Pacific Raceways and felt wilted by the time I got home around 5 p.m. I showered again because I was drenched with sweat. I think it was 95 degrees, but it may have been hotter. Right now, at just before midnight, it's still 81 degrees at my house.

And I guess tomorrow it's going to be 91. Argh! I know, that's a cool-down for some places, but I hate the heat for race weekend. With type II diabetes, it kicks my butt to be out in it for hours and hours at a time. I'll just guzzle lots of water tomorrow. Again. Hopefully the driver I'm rooting for this weekend will pull off a victory and make me forget all about the heat.

Tom, it's not the looks of OKC that I didn't like. I had a REAL bad trip there once with a friend's 2 year old twins screaming in the backseat for 2 hours. I guess I should have said it's not really OKC that I dislike so much. It's the bad memories that it brings with it..LOL!

Besides, I'd really like to go to OKC and check out Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. Bricktown looks like a gorgeous section of town.

Well, OK then... I guess I'll let it slide. :)

What they've done with Bricktown is really cool... you should've come for the drag boat races last weekend, that would've been the perfect time for a visit!
(Without the afore-mentioned sceaming kids, of course.)

I went to my cousins in Upland yesterday to take a dip in the pool. Not bad, the pool water was a chilly 91 degrees. I gave up and asked for a bar of soap. :D

Maybe next year. I plan to spend a little longer vacation with my parents next year during the Summer.

I just got back from a visit with them and we had the best time. Went to the Auction in Tulsa (I can't remember the name of it) at the Convention Center. When my 6 year old spotted Big Splash she demanded we go there next year..LOL! So maybe we can slide in a trip to OKC as well.

By the way, my parents live in Mena, AR and during my visit it was gorgeous. Up there in the mountains the breeze makes everything perfect. However, once you get off the mountains the heat is almost unbearable!
