I haven't even read this article yet, but I'm pretty sure ALL the Maters will be watching for the magic 3-second FC field! 24 cars - if it doesn't happen now, then when? (Sorry to be a potential jink!)

the first 3 sec. FC field seems very likely next weekend.
thought we'd see the creasy name on FC list. maybe we still will?

Weather does not look good, hot, high humidity and rain. Monday looks good partly cloudy low 80's
Just noticed we get a night session for Friday 7:30 est

It's over a week away, the forecast will change 50 times between now and then.

I think the next real chance for a 3 second field will be in Dallas, and only if the weather gives it a break which is iffy at best. If there's going to be record temperatures it'll be that weekend. I once attended the 'Plex nationals in mid-October when it was 104 degrees ambient and the way things have been lately, 104 would be considered a Siberian Express event.

Having Nitro Q1 scheduled on Friday night is going to be a disaster. They've done it before and only a few cars made full pulls. Let the teams make a couple runs to figure things out, then have the hero session.

I originally thought this would be the best chance for a 3 second field given the number of cars and a fifth qualifying session. I agree though that it is looking too hot for that to happen. Also for the Friday night session it is still supposed to be around 89 degrees when nitro qualifying starts. Do funny cars run first? If so the other issue will be that due to Indy being on Eastern time the sun will not have set until the end of the qualifying session. Still hoping for a good show. My son and I are planning on going Sunday for the last day of qualifying and the Callout.

They go first, Funny Car Friday.
