Immigration laws in Oklahoma and Arizona?

Man has this thread gotten jacked or what! I simply wanted to know "IF" The Immigration laws in Arizona and Okie have had any effect thus far. I didn't mean it to get into a World history lesson!

Can anyone name a first world country ran by hispanics or African-Americans?

Is there any third-world country being governed by whites?

Spain & don’t know the African American part.

Slovenia at the current time possibly.

While I agree it helps today to know spanish, but we shouldnt be expected to know it. However, since they live here and need to function in society without everyone bending to there needs, they need to learn English.

If I moved to Mexico I wouldnt expect them to speak english for me, I'd learn spanish so I could communicate and function. This country is giving everything away to them and the politicians arent doing a damn thing about it and it sucks. We can write 100 letters a day and nothing is going to happen. The only way something will change is if we threw everyone out of Washington and started completely over with people who care about this country instead of padding there pockets or if we actually ever get a decent honest politician. And that isint going to happen any time soon.

I didn’t say Spanish should be everyone’s second language. I said I thought it would be good for a second language to be learned. There are well over a hundred to choose from and believe me; my Spanish would only get me into trouble. I speak German after English and have only remnants of Spanish and Italian left. Please note also that I thought that English should be the primary language in this country. As the saying goes, when in Rome…

Have you even tried to write a letter much less hundreds? The politicians can’t function in a vacuum, regardless of how empty we might think their heads are. Unless we (and I mean many of us, you me and everyone you know) gets active about what their politicians do then there never will be change, regardless of how many times you throw them out of office. You wouldn’t expect a child to know why you are angry unless you tell them, why should anyone else be expected to read your mind?

In 13 years at the shop I am at, I have dealt with a lot of spanish speaking clients, and have never experienced this one time at all. I don't dispute people bettering their lives, but do it LEGALLY.

I am tired of my tax dollars helping those who aren't here legally, and tired of illegally earned income going south of the border.

I was as surprised as could be, but it happened in a little town I was visiting, in Wendy’s in Big Spring, Texas.

I agree that people should be able to better their lives and that it should be done legally and I have been in many arguments with a couple friends of mine about my tax dollars and what should be done with them and who should or should not benefit.

As American citizens we should demand nothing less than full enforcement of our immigration laws and require everyone who wants to become a citizen to get in line, follow the rules, assimilate to the American culture and way of life and show respect for the people and laws of this country.

I don’t disagree with this.

That old saying is coming to mind right now...........

"WHEN IN ROME, DO AS THE ROMANS!!!"

OMG, I just said that... :D

…..that was led and created by whites..

Oh, I forgot… Hispanic people are considered White. A person’s ethnicity may not necessarily be their race.

I posted what I did, not because I thought it would start a race war or cause an argument, although I have to admit that my friends and I do get into some rather heated discussions. We all understand (my friends and I) that this country was founded by people that believed they were escaping persecution, moving on to a better life, felt they had not other alternatives, etc. We also understand that just talking about things won’t change it, and while one person might be ridiculed, that the person that has the courage to stand behind their convictions is the person to be most respected and that others may, in time follow their lead. In other words, if you want change, you have to ask for, push, demand and make that change. Of course, if you don’t, then you will always have the perfect excuse to be the victim & how many of us know that’s the easy way out – “I didn’t do it, so it’s not my fault.”

I posted what I did because I feel that too many people jump to conclusions without looking at more than one side of an issue…. Kind of like building a chassis without knowing what stresses it might come under.

Sorry about that Dude. These days, pretty much any question about immigration or immigration laws will get huge reactions.

Politics and/or religion. It appears most of us are just way too passionate about them to debate these issues with civility.

I wouldn't call photoshopping someones name on top of a picture of Hilter as civil, would you?

Some set the mark. Others are amused by it.

I for one have seen a noticeable decrease in the number of illegals traversing the highways and biways and residential neighborhoods since the passage of H.B. 1804 in Oklahoma. Additionally I have noticed a decrease in the number of hit and run accidents, property crime and violent crime incidents since November 07. I am not suggesting that all of the aformentioned crimes were committed by illegals but it certainly suggests a pattern so to speak.

H.B. 1804 is not a magical cure for the invasion of illegals, but it certainly calls the attention of those who knowingly hire undocumented workers who's sole purpose is to send a large proportional amount of earned income back to their home country. Certainly the price of goods and services will increase to a fair degree regarding agriculture, construction, consumer services etc. etc. but are we not really getting what we pay for? Not too long ago, I spent some time in an emergency room waiting area of a major hospital in my city. After a lengthy 2.5 hour wait, I finally got to see the screener who takes down the personal information, insurance carrier, etc. etc. After I produced my insurance card she stated that I was the only one that had produced an insurance verification in the past 4 hours. The waiting room was quite large with a capacity of 100 plus and I was the only one who had insurance. I am not saying that everyone there waiting was of hispanic origin, but a large percentage was.

Who pays for medical services rendered to illegals when they apparently have no insurance coverage and choose not to pay for any? The obvious answer to that is all of us who are here legally and who get smacked with an increase in taxes and insurance premiums every single year. I for one have seen first hand that most illegal immigrants have more cash in their pocket than I do. I could go on and on about my personal observations of illegals through my chosen profession but I won't bore you with the details.

There is no quick fix for the immigration problem. There is however a mechanism already in place that should deter the flood of illegals every single day. It's called the rule of law. It's illegal, it's a crime and it should be enforced. Our state is trying to do something about it. Is it making a difference? Yes it is. Is it a long term solution, absolutely not!

Just my two cents and that won't buy you a refill for your bottled water!

Tom.

My question is how can you not get mad about illegal immigration?

Here's a story from last week. I pay $350 a month for medical insurance for my wife and I and thats b/c my company luckily pays for the majority of mine so most of the $350 is for her.

Anyways, as some of yall know Pam broke her arm in Tahoe on vacation and last week I took her back to the dr b/c she's still swelling really bad and it was getting worse. The ortho dr sent us to the brace place to get it refitted in hopes it would loosen a little and let the swelling go down. While at the brace place (in which I pay $350 a month for ins like I said plus I had to pay $250 for the brace when we got it) a hispanic lady pulls up outside in a ESCALDE mind you not, comes in her with her son. They are dressed nice, nike shoes and nike outfit, and picks up a brace and the lady behind the counter tells her "Here you go, just sign her showing you picked it up and there's no charge b/c Medicade covers it since you dont have insurance."
Ofcourse the lady didnt understand b/c she didnt speak english so they had to go get someone to talk to her.

So whats wrong with this picture? I pay $350 a month for insurance, I still have to pay $250 to get the brace in the first place even after having insurance, but the money I pay in taxes lets this lady who I am more than sure was here illegally get it for free. Yeah, lets throw a party!

I was so pissed.

I know that Bar-S foods employs many many many "temp" employee's in northwest Oklahoma. No raids by the state gov't..........yet.

I asked a few simple questions and no one has/can answered them aside from how I am a racist...Which is far from the truth of anyone that knows me...born and raised in So Calif...

Terry,

It is the way you "demand" that your questions be answered and if they are not to your liking the sledge hammer comes out and your arrogance fumigates like a toxic substance. Sorry to be so blunt, but when you get your feathers ruffled, I turn on the "ignore" switch.

I still like ya though!!!:D

Yay!!! It's RACE DAY!!!!

Suzie...Coming from the entertainment industry in So Calif I learned long ago not to sugar coat things and some like it and some do not...
You might call it toxic and other call it curious...

I asked a few simple questions that were straight up and some here bomb away...I can take it...even Bobby's immature responses...to which I would not stoop that low as a human to human...

And to say I 'still' like you is like saying that if I cross a line than you'll retract...Nothing you/anyone say/type here would ever change my original feelings towards them..I like everyone's opinion...very healthly..

Georginna: Slovania is a first world country..
