I understand we are a country of immigrants, but our history until recently was we were a country of LEGAL immigrants who followed the rules, got in line and assimilated.

Today we have a crop of illegal invaders who have pushed their way into our country, refuse to assimilate and demand all sorts of entitlements such as drivers licenses, welfare handouts and citizenship.

So called "immigrant activist groups" demand we treat these law breakers with dignity and respect and call for fair treatment of people who have broken our laws while Concerned Americans such as the Minutemen are lambasted as racist murderers by the very same activist groups.

There is a county WIC (welfare to women, infants and children) office next to where I work my day job (not the one where I blow stuff up) and everyday I see a non stop stream of hispanics entering the office with 3 to 6 children in tow lining up for taxpayer provided $$$ to support them. Quite often these people arrive to the WIC office in shiny late model SUV's (the Ford Expedition is the vehicle of choice) outfitted with 22" custom rims and loud booming expensive stereo systems.

The Federal Government gives lip service to protecting our borders and even has the audacity to prosecute 2 U.S. Border Patrol Agents who shot an armed illegal alien drug smuggler who had illegally crossed over into the U.S. These 2 agents are now serving 11 year sentences and our own President doesn't have the balls to step in and commute their sentence as he did with Scooter Libby.

When the subject of deportation is brought up all we hear is how these are hard working people who contribute to our economy and how our economy would collapse if we were to send them all back home. If our economy is so dependent on law breakers to sustain it, then it should collapse. Any business that needs to employ law breakers to remain competitive over their peers does not belong in business. There's a word for that. It's called cheating.

Im sick of hearing about how sending these law breakers back to their home country will split up and tear apart their families. Nobody is preventing their family from following them back home. Using that logic on illegal aliens is the same as saying that bank robbers should not be imprisoned because it will split up families.

As American citizens we should demand nothing less than full enforcement of our immigration laws and require everyone who wants to become a citizen to get in line, follow the rules, assimilate to the American culture and way of life and show respect for the people and laws of this country.

You really need to review your US history. This country has NEVER had a predominant culture of legal immigrants who "followed the rules" and "assimilated". Wave after wave of immigrants from irish to italians to chinese to vietnamese and on and on, have shown the ability and willingness to get into the country by any means possible, to avoid and circumvent the citizenship rules, to create subcultures, and to eventually get along just fine. Just because you are only young enough to see the latest wave doesn't make you right.

It doesn't surprise me that you actually believed I could not provide answers to your questions since they are, shall we say, in another league than I am in. I live in a world where all God's children are created equal and feel fortunate to live under a government where such a principal is treasured. I treasure it! There are people of excellent and poor character from all races, creeds, nationalities, etc.

Lastly, you say that my responses are theory and not experience, while your posts contain exclusively documented facts, huh? I'll respectfully disagree. I happen to believe all of our posts clearly speak for themselves.

I'm well read on U.S. History and beg to differ from your statement that there has never been a predominant culture of legal immigrants who "followed the rules" and "assimilated". I acknowledge that there are pockets of communities with strong ties to a certain cultures (Chinatown, Koreatown, etc) but the majority of immigrants have assimilated.

And for the record, I don't care what language a person speaks in their own home, but when you are dealing with society in this Country, you need to learn and speak English if you are want to be successful.

OK, I'll do this once and slowly for the slow readers out there.

I challenge any of you to go to Chinatown in San Francisco (or Seattle), or Little Italy in New York, or the Cuban parts of Miami, or the northwest of Detroit (predominantly Arab), or the Scandinavian parts of many cities and towns in the upper midwest, or any number of other places in this country where large pockets of immigrants have settled over the years. There are parts of each of these areas where English is not the dominant language, where there are many people (friends and relatives) who are not there legally, and guess what? The world does not implode. They are often vibrant communities, with thousands of hard working, tax paying people who add to this country.

I'm sick and tired of the people in the southwest who feel they're the first people in the country who've been effected by immigrants. People have complained about immigrants since the beginning of this country. And yet they come, and the country is often better for them. I bet that every single one of you is descended from immigrants. They have for centuries done jobs no one else wants, worked hard to scratch out a living for their families, paid taxes, lived life, and contributed to this country.

If you suddenly ejected everyone who is here illegally, many of the lawns in this country wouldn't get mowed, most of the crops wouldn't get picked, much of the meat wouldn't get slaughtered, what remains of the garment industry would be gone, and every gas station would be left unattended. I'm sick of you right-wing nutjobs who say in one breath how wonderful the Bush tax cuts are working because they see all the help wanted signs in their town and then say in the same breath how the illegals are taking all the jobs. If you want their job so bad, how come I don't see you down at Home Depot looking for day labor in the parking lot?

People who abuse welfare do so from all ethnic groups, it's not a hispanic epidemic. Just go to New York or any other big city and you'll find them -- they look like whatever the population looks like. Thievery is race-neutral. Yes, they should be stopped and nailed for it. But to generalize and say they all have fancy cars with big wheels is just racist. You don't understand their priorities (I don't either) but that's just them being stupid, not criminal.

As for the old BS that they are sapping our resources, that's just wrong. Every study that has ever been done on this question (and there have been many) shows that illegals pay many times more in payroll taxes and FICA (social security, which they'll never collect) than the services they collect cost. In fact, many jurisdictions don't work hard to get rid of them because they are net positive for the economics of the region. To say otherwise just means you have Rush Limbaugh turned up too loud.

Finally, as to Terry and your pathetic questions. I answered two of them already. As to the other (where to find a minority neighborhood with good schools and low crime), go to any big city and there are these neighborhoods -- you just can't afford to live in them. And schools are a public responsibility, so if they stink in those neighborhoods, whose fault is it? Your "white leaders".

I can't believe you can actually feed yourself let alone type on a computer if you actually think that the world only runs right with a white face in charge. Just because that's been the case in Europe and the US for the last 400 years isn't a testament to the glory of being white but the ridiculous and systematic oppression that whites have done to all other races. And I think a few billion people in Japan, China, Korea, India, the Arab world, and on and on would object you your implication that the world simply ceases to function without a WASP in charge.

I live in Boise, Idaho and am very impressed how they handle immigration problems here...They deport you...And if more than one person speaks spanish in a store or anywhere in public people will speak up and demand they talk aloud in english...Shocked me @ first as I am from So Calif where most whites are p.c. ,, but I do respect their (IDAHO Natives) stance...And natives here in IDAHO will go to the wall to defend their opinion...
