If you could bring back an old NHRA class ...

As a matter of principle, I refuse to access Facebook.

I want to see Top Gas come back.

I don't remember NHRA having real Jr fuel as a class. Same for fuel altereds. I thought they made them run in some kind of eliminator.

Between the various Nostalgia Series' and match races, I'm inclined to think that there are more AA/Fuel Altereds running right now than there were in the 1960s or '70s.

Why even entertain the thought Bobby? None of these classes will be back even if you close your eyes and wish real hard. Seriously,NHRA wants less classes not more.:(

Jack, don't be a wet blanket and dash a kid's dreams. LOL

Okay, a gray haired kid's dreams.

I sure do miss the days of the Garley Daniels, Larry Kopp and 50 lb. flywheels.

Oh yeah .. and Bear Barrilleaux

Whether a real class or not, bringing back fuel altereds, even in an exhibition role, would revive the NHRA like John Travolta and Eric Stoltz did to Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction.

Which is exactly why it'll never happen. As long as G. Dim and T. Cr*pton are running the show it's always going to be about putting "deals" like the Harley PSB fiasco together to vainly try and justify their exorbitant salaries.

And no, actually ... I don't ever ignore a chance to cr*p on the fedora of those in Glendora. But thanks for asking.

I voted Modified Eliminator, a lot of cool, inexpensive, home built cars. Top Gas was cool back then too.

That would NOT revive NHRA. There is already an association out there, and they cannot even come close to filling a "B League" strip. IHRA runs them, and they are never more popular than the Funny Cars. As cool as they are, they are not the all mighty saviors of today's Drag Racing

Well, there you have it. The Grand Bloviator of Austin has weighed in once more. We can now all go back to whatever else we were thinking about, 'cause we've received "the" answer. Whew.

Sheesh ... this guy again.

I hope to meet you some day, sir. There's much you are in the dark about. But I believe you would confuse any light shed in your world for a train and run the other way.

I would rather they fund the Pro Mod class and turn it into a true category.

Modified eliminator would quickly devolve into the cubic dollars contest we see in Top Sportsman/Dragster and Comp Eliminator, not to mention from the grandstands it would be tough to differentiate from T/S and Comp.

AA/FAs are whole pile of fun for the fans, but was it ever a true class in NHRA competition? I am all for more nitro on the docket, so this is where my vote would go, though it would also quickly devolve into a cubic dollar contest and be quickly watered down by NHRA, instead of the fun cars we see at Nostalgia events now. Todays altereds are usually cleverly disguised modern funny cars, and NHRA won't let them come close to the numbers the current big boys are running.

After the lawsuit, you got a much better chance of seeing Scarlett Johansson run naked down the quarter mile than seeing Pro Stock Truck.

The important thing to remember, is that these classes went away from the big show for a reason, either fan or participant support. Like I said earlier, there is a class running currently that the fans like and that there are plenty of participants for, and that is Pro Mod.
