Wow, if only NHRA didn't move Maple Grove to the hottest part of the summer, we'd be most likely looking at some new national records. Its been in the low 70's the past 2 days and tomorrow won't get out of the 60's. Also, it figures that once the race gets moved you have a rain free weekend.

PS and PSB records - yes. Fuel car records - doubtful. Remove the rev limiter from fuel cars and see what happens! After the first TF run at 4.30 and 340, insurance companies will leave like rats on a sinking ship!
It would be great if the supposed new NHRA "Partners" could force tracks to extend shutdown areas, but that's impossible at many venues. Since that can't happen, performance is going to be restricted to prevent a driver from being injured or killed. NHRA has backed itself into a corner, with no way out.
New tracks could help, but it has become clear that a proposal for any type of motorsports facility generates an immediate NIMBY response.
Considering this situation, I find it very hard to believe that a corporation would buy NHRA with the idea of growing the sport. Has anyone heard if this deal is going to happen? - Jim

Sonoma would hold all the records if it wasn't smack dead in the middle of the summer! ;)

Well, I know it sucks for you 'Grove fans, but as a person attending the races this weekend in Memphis, the switch has been spectacular. Perfect weather, perfect time of year. And the cars are flying. (PSB and PS, anyway)...

You got that right. This weekend has been spectacular!

High of 81 tomorrow...hoping for a bit of cloud cover, and watching these boys & girls fly!
