It would be interesting to find out why Big Daddy didn't stay with it??

I think I remember something from a Big interview like it was too hot & uncomfortable, too hard to push the tree and get a good leave and didn't think it made that big of difference on the big end. Cockpit drag isn't that big a problem with the new windshields.

I wonder if this capsule design would have made a difference in Gwynn, B. Johnson, or Russell's crash?

Definitely would have in Gwynn's crash, and the rear rollcage shielding that we currently have is a direct result of Russell's crash. Both of these combined have got to make for a safer cockpit.

Also, I'd think that there should be a way for emergency workers to release this canopy from the mounts with the quick pull of one lever. the driver should have the same option.
