Hows it feel NASCAR?

Haha! I was watching and was laughing like crazy! For America's Funniest Home Videos no less! :D

So........ummmmmm why should this cause joy or amusement?

I don' get it.........

Sounds like a case of "you know what envy"

I think NASCAR has nothing to do with NHRA, and vise versa.

Keeping your own eye on your own ball is the way to succeed, not gloating or wishing ills on others.

At least it was still in prime time and still live..unlike NHRA where who-knows-where-and-when we would even find it.

Well after 400 years of being on the air...and more loyal viewers than any sport ever and more dedicated advertisers than any show... they better not limit the air time of AFV.... my granny would have started a riot....lol.......

I agree. I know there are still people out there that don't have cable/satellite, but having ESPN and ESPN2 seems almost as common as having a TV.

and for those who were recording ABC for the whole race...oh well...I'm sure you got to see a guy getting hit in the nuts for the umpteenth time.

That was my thought after the laughter ended. And let me say, it was more laughter out of.....ohhhhhh, so it DOES happen to other sports besides NHRA! So, an empathy chuckle if you will. ;)

i'd have to say i'm surprised to say the least - nascar is 2nd to the nfl
in USA viewership and there are some in this country still without cable
or satellite........espn/abc hasn't had nascar for how many years?
they finally get it back and they let this happen? :o

Not only did it cause every DVR to miss the last 25 laps.. but for those that were paying for DirecTv Hotpass, we lost the network feed for the last 25 laps .. only choice was to watch one of the 4 driver channels.. Plus I walked out of the room when they made the announcement, so it took me a couple of minutes to find the race, since I wasn't ever watching the ABC feed to start with.

Maybe ESPN just sucks, period, and it isn't just their treatment of NHRA..

Yep, I'm one of those people that dvr the Nascar stuff and watch it when it's over--usually takes about 30 minutes...I just can't hack Rusty Wallace blaming all handling issues on being "aero loose" or covering up for his son's lack of talent and penchant for causing accidents in the Busch, no wait a minute, Nationwide? series. So I missed the last 25 laps of the race, but I have to admit it was worth it to hear the announcers waffling with their announcement that because of iron-clad network committments and time constraints or some such hogwash the race was moving to ESPN2, and I saw that it was that stupid home video show, I just loved it! Just like Cheryl said, s.o.s.--guy losing his pants and another guy getting racked. Super!:D

Outside of safety improvements, the last brilliant decision made by anyone remotely connected to NASCAR was the birth of the Truck Series in 1995.

Now that's funny right there!

From the article "some idiot at ABC decided the network needed to honor its obligation to switch from the race to an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos."

Because we definitely need less people honoring obligations (that was sarcasm in case it did not make it through the tubes).

the cable at the holiday inn in madison,fl showed REPLAYS of the lsu/ alabama game on sunday...hoping the score would CHANGE
so i didn't see anything wrong with the race being channel changed
in a perfect world....

The point of my post was not that it DID happen--or the fact that i had to change the channel--but the fact there was OUTRAGE at the fact it happened to them. I watch ALL racing-not a bash on any form.
