I would say epping this paat year 100 degrees Friday barely 56 sat and Sunday and Monday
Coldest 2000 Memphis, snow flurries during qualifying
Hottest all US Nationals and St Louis
Best weather race 94 Indy finals after 11 pm in the middle of a major fog bank, cars looked spectacular
Scariest, leaving Rt 66 with a tornado following me home, or driving home from US 131 with late summer Lake Michigan fog
Saddest, after a fantastic 84 AHRA Gand American Nationals, arriving @ US30 the following week only to find out it was closed…permanently

Maple Grove 2001 after 9/11 postponed until October. If I remember right, Scelzi and Densham set track records Friday in front of a packed grandstand. By the time Sunday came around it felt like you was at Penn State Football Game in December. That was a cold weekend. Norwalk around 2009 or 2010, if I can remember right, it was 96-98 degrees. Bill Bader had the mist fans set up for spectators to walk through.
That was in 2010 I think. But I saw those mist fans up in other years too - think in 21 and 22 when the storms hit on Sunday each year, under the pit side bleachers.
As an aside to the thread, what were the wettest race events ever? It the winner isn't Columbus in 81, I'd be shocked.
In 96 we got to Columbus on Sunday only to learn it was postponed a week. There was water in places up to the tops of picnic tables. Seemed like there was always rain issues with Columbus, maybe rivaling the stories about Maple Grove I'd heard and read on here about.

Ennis 2000(?). The original weekend got rained out. Then, the following weekend was rained.
Finally, on the 3rd weekend, the weather stayed dry but cloudy and surprisingly cool.
I bet there were fewer than 2000 fans in attendance. Access in the pits was amazing.
There were no qualification runs. The eliminations ladder was set according to how the drivers were ranked in the points standings.
I was there with my 11 year old son, plus my brother-in-law.
We sat by ourselves in the sponsors’ stands at the top end.
Force was there with his Frankenstein car. He blew it up, and as far as I know, I was the only one to get the shot.
So, I had it blown up to 8” x 10” and gave it to a buddy, who was going to the 2001 Winternats, to have Force autograph it for me.
Force took one look at it and said he wanted the picture for his museum. Much to my aggravation, my Force-fanboy buddy just handed it over.

I'll vouch for this. We had on every article of clothing we had with us on and it was still freezing. I think '04 was similar in Brainerd, but slightly warmer during the day, however, at night I'm pretty sure it dipped into the 30's.
Don't remember the exact year 96-00? But the area that the Press parked the rental cars had water up to their roofs.

I think it was Wednesday night. Froze my ass off. However, from my recollection, you were ah.. busy somewhere else not cold at all.

That one will probably always be my favorite event ever, any time, any track. I was only 10 at the time but the memories will last a lifetime.
I think that was 96 also.
