HERNANDEZ LOOKING FOR TEXAS SUCCESS IN ANOTHER REGION

DALLAS, Texas - A three hour trip down Interstate 45 - South of Dallas and AMS RAGE Pro Modified driver Josh Hernandez can do nothing wrong in Texas. However, when he rolls into the land of the Texas Motorplex, Hernandez just hasn't had the same luck.

Hernandez would just as soon to see that trend change during this weekend's O'Reilly NHRA Fallnationals hosted by the Texas Motorplex.

"We have a lot of really good factors working in our favor headed into this weekend," Hernandez said. "The win for us in Indianapolis was huge and gives us a lot of momentum headed into this weekend. Maybe we can improve on last year's race in Dallas."

Hernandez was the 2005 AMS NHRA Pro Modified rookie of the year, and in his only driving experience at the Texas Motorplex yielded to parts attrition in the first round of eliminations. Outside of that misfortune, the 2005 campaign was more than anyone could have envisioned with four national event victories, four top qualifying positions and a runner-up at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

This season has been just as impressive with four national events in five finals spread amongst three racing series. Hernandez scored a victory back in April during the NHRA event in Houston Raceway Park after reaching the final round at an ADRL event at another Houston track on the other side of town.

Hernandez also boasts a perfect record in IHRA competition having only competed in two events. He has eight consecutive winning rounds leading to national event victories in Rockingham, North Carolina and Martin, Michigan. Hernandez established a new speed performance mark in the Martin triumph.

Hernandez finest hour most likely came over the Labor Day weekend when he captured the U.S. Nationals crown.

"We have been blessed with a great season thus far," Hernandez said. "I have to give the credit to my crew and tuner Howard Moon. They give me a great car to drive and that's the bottom line."
