Hernandez Sets Track Records in Semifinal Finish at Houston

HOUSTON (March 3, 2007) - In a record-setting outing in ADRL competition, Josh Hernandez, driver of the Dr. Moon's Rage '57 Chevy Pro Extreme Pro Modified, advanced to the semifinals in the RacingJunk.com Dragpalooza III at Houston Motorsports Park in Houston, Texas.

Hernandez set a track record 3.87 in the first round of eliminations against Michael Neal, and re-set the record with a 3.86 in the second round with a bye run. In the semifinals, Hernandez lost on a holeshot to Mike Bell, 3.92 to 3.93.

"He got the light on me and the car shook like crazy," Hernandez said. "I pedaled it, got back into it, but the finish line got there before I could get to him.

"The good thing is that I ran a career best and set track records on both ends - a 3.86 at 194.55, and the folks from LodgeMortgage.com were there and got to be a part of the excitement.

"I wanted to thank them, Dave Wood, Tommy Lipar and AMS Staff Leasing for all their support and for coming out to the races this weekend. I always enjoy racing at home because I get to share what I love with family and friends," Hernandez said.

Hernandez and the AMS/Rage team head into competition next March 15-18 at the ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.
