Hagan Breaks Into Field Again

April 30, 2007 - CHRISTIANSBURG, VA--Matt Hagan and crew entered the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals with a renewed sense of confidence, and that confidence paid off as Hagan once again qualified in the top half of a national field of veteran Pro Modified drivers and had a good event displaying continued progress for the team.

Hagan had a strong qualifying round, his best time coming in the third round where he lined up against Scott Ray and delivered a 6.067/237.30 mph run, his best competition pass of the season.

"This car has tremendous power and I think we've finally seen it come out this weekend," commented Hagan. "The challenge we have now is to tune our chassis to be able to handle it."

In competition, Hagan won his first round race against Tim Tindle's '67 Mustang. He then faced off against Joshua Hernandez. Hernandez, who would eventually go on to win the entire event, edged out Hagan with a 6.057/238.68 mph to Matt's 6.133/236.26 mph.

Hagan and crew will be working overtime this week to tune the 1968 TORCO Accelerator Camaro for the upcoming O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals in Madison, IL. For more information log on to NHRA.com or Matt Hagan Racing.com
