Greg Stanfield qualifies ninth in Pro Stock (1 Viewer)

Greg Stanfield will start Sunday’s first round of the Spring Nationals from the No. 9 position at Royal Purple Raceway.

Humid weather conditions Saturday slowed elapsed times from Friday so much so that only one driver improved his top 16 position after the final two qualifying laps. Stanfield did get down the track twice (6.704 seconds, 207.05 mph and 6.659 at 208.07) in the Stanfield-Yonke Racing, Coffman Tank Trucks, Nitro Fish Pontiac GXP. His Friday best was 6.597 at 209.82.

“We learned some things on the last two runs that should help us Sunday,” said crew chief Eddie Guarnaccia, “but we aren’t up to where we want to be. The air conditions changed quite a bit from Friday. There was a lot of humidity in the air.

“We are looking forward to race day.”

Stanfield meets Ron Krisher (No. 8, 6.592 at 210.54) in the first round.
