Greg Stanfield will begin Sunday’s opening round of the Auto-Plus Fall Nationals from the No. 12 position at Maple Grove Raceway near Reading, Pa.
Stanfield’s quickest quarter-mile qualifying run was 6.576 seconds at 209.98 mph in the Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Trucks GXP.
“We had a problem with tire shake,” said Stanfield. “We feel that’s costing us a couple hundredths (of a second) and we we’re trying to figure out what we need to do to get rid of it before the first round.”
He squares off against Ron Krisher (No. 4, 6.558 at 210.60) in the opening round.
