Gator Nationals 2026 (28 Viewers)

why wasn't there any coverage? it's kind of a big deal right? it's part of the 2026 kick-off, along with the garlit's hall of fame ceremony.
today is the first day of the gatornationals. what are the top 10 stories today on nhra.com?
1. DK looking to stay at the top starting in gainesville
2. the insiders take a deep dive into the 2026 gatornationals
3. tricky tipster gatornationals
4. nhra's 75 top moments
5. nhra announces first wave of 75th anniversary commemorative tickets
6. goodyear to celebrate nhra's 75th anniversary with specially marked rear slicks
7. Daido metal returns as primary partner for paul lee racing at gators
8. celebrate drag racing's greatest heroes with new nhra top 75 book
9. legends race with bernstein, amato, w.j., and larson set for gatornationals
10. nhra member pins crafted into celebratory 75th anniversary artwork
there is (1) story in this list that interests me. there are almost 500 racers + countless sponsors on the grounds.
countless stories could be reported. seems like very few are.

was watching the don garlits drag racing H.O.F. ceremony on utube last night.
the stream cut off right after david reher started talking. completely missed rahn tobler part.
really enjoyed listening to steve boggs.

Probably because IHRA was a major sponsor, with a huge IHRA logo on the screen behind all the recipients.

the H.O.F. feed which i didn't see live, but watched the stream later on utube.
i swear that darn stream was interrupted about every 5 minutes with an annoying ad. i've never had so many
ad interruptions on a utube video.

Same exact thing happened to me, glad to hear it was not on my end and hopefully we will get to see the end!
What a great show it was, though, great stories and Big, himself!

Hope Gainsville gets some cloud cover by the 2nd nitro Qualifying session at 5-6PM as the track must have been really hot for the 1st session. Only 4 out of 17 funny cars had respectable runs with the rest up in smoke. It's going to be 85 or 86 degrees all 3 days, but at least no rain in the forecast.

4:11 PM - Correction to above. It is mostly cloudy right now, and there is a chance of rain in the area.

I'm guessing they reached their time limit on youtube. Hope they replay the whole thing later. I really wanted to hear Rahn's talk. I think NHRA has shown segments of prior events before at a later date,

What’s the past beef between Schumacher and Jim O both of them alluded to during qualifying today? I can kind of make up a scenario myself but wanted to see what you guys thought. Cool backstory.

Oberhofer was on Kalitta's crew, and Schumacher was pummeling them for championships 2004-2009.

Hearing Frey in the booth was worth admission. Didn't miss a beat after 16 years
Still watching TF Qual 1 in a rain delay because I paused it. It's Bob Frey, Jason Galvin and Lohnes. Bob is doing all the talking telling old stories. It's priceless. Never knew the Nhra historical data base he has accumulated along with memorabilia. Lohnes and Galvin actually consult with him now for facts and trivia for race broadcasts. Hope they get him out to more races this year, at 80 he looks and sounds great.
