What an absurdly stupid statement! The man earned the money where he can do with it what he wants......and I'm sure that Coil isn't hurting at all from his time at JFR!

“But as time went on, it became obvious he was pinching pennies for everyone but himself. He started construction of a 19,200-square-foot home with marble staircases and the like. Bigger pay cuts for all team members came at the end of the 2009 season, but he kept buying new equipment for the shop, and the house construction continued. I felt betrayed.”

Now put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr Hayes

Well I'll stroke Alan's ego he is the best sportsman announcer ever treats every one of us as if we were John Force. Oh and he ain't half bad as the pro announcer either.

Now why don't you go back and take a look at the rest of the article. Did Coil mention the house, yes he did, I never denied that. But if you truly think the construction of Force's house is the reason that he left, you must have something in your pipe that's a lot better than what I have in mine!

If you have half a brain, you would've realized what I was referring to when I made that comment. Yes, it's still an absurdly stupid statement!

It is absurdly stupid that you think I meant that John's house was "THE" reason. Read my post again.

"It was team finances that Coil cited as the tipping point that finally prompted his resignation." And what did Coil say about the finances? "buying new equipment for the shop, and the house construction continued" What? The HOUSE CONSTRUCTION CONTINUED? Yeah your right, the house in the article at the beginning of this thread couldn't be that house. How absurdly stupid of me.

found his pad on google earth......very cool location.
owners take risks in life, sign the checks, and control the money.
that's the united states of america i know and love.
if you work for someone and you don't like how the boss does things, you can quit....that's what coil did.
simple. there are always more employees.

They had a fantastic run together, one that is extremely rare. They accomplished a lot, broke all kinds of records, and made a lot of money, also extremely rare in drag racing. I'm a huge Eagles fan, and in their History of the Eagles documentary, band member Timothy B. Schmit said in his experience rock bands are on the verge of breaking up at all times. I'd say it's the same with team owners and crew chiefs. So I would bet both men realize how special that run was, and I'm glad that they are back to talking. Really not much more to say about it, IMO.

You "insiders" have no clue. None.
If your "rumors" were true, can ANYONE tell me why Robert still has a job?
People grow apart all the time, and still manage to get on with their lives. It's nobody's fault, it happens.
If John thought his daughter had been wronged, why would Robert still be there?
I'll give you geniuses some time to think about that............

Robert is a stand up guy, and he is 100% committed to his daughter, and to JFR as he always has been.
They are moving forward, you all can keep looking back if you want too.
Alan
There you go Alan, speaking the truth again. You know a few of these members can't handle the truth.;) If you are the Sheriff can I be your Deputy?:) See you tomorrow.

that house has driveways built for a Formula 1 driver.....where's the 1/4 mile straight with massive black stripes on it? That would be part of my ultimate mansion....set up the Porta Tree !

I can handle the truth Eugene. There was no truth anywhere just rumors. I wasn't in the discussions so nothing he said was directed at me. My problem with Alan is that it seems he only visits here to come to the defense of his employer and friends then speaks down to people in an unnecessary and sometimes arrogant manor. I just felt I should come to the defense of fellow Maters. His friend Greg Anderson wouldn't let him visit his shop so why should I believe Robert Hight discussed the reasons behind his marital issues. There was also a rumor that the AAA contract revolved around him in some manner. That would explain why he is still there but it is just a rumor. People were discussing rumors that were already out there thats all. He talked down to them like they were stupid and they were the ones who started them. He should be above that. He could have handled it in a different manner. Do posters go to far sometimes? Absolutely but they have the right to discuss what they have heard? This place would be boring if all that was spoke of was fact.

Alan,
You are welcome to use that drawing how ever you wish if you donate to my sons tuition and book fees when he attends UNOH this fall since he is the one who drew it for me. Seriously though if you admit you unfairly criticize posters and give my son credit anywhere you use it your welcome to it.

Mike,
Fair enough, I was a bit harsh in my original post. I do consider Robert to be a friend and believe he would say the same about me. I took the first couple of posts as an unfounded attack on a friend and responded to that. Perhaps next time I will not be so assertive. I will also admit that sometimes I wish to respond to a particular person (or two) and it gets interpreted as me slamming the entire group. That's on me as well. I could certainly be clearer.

I do take offence to the statement that I "only visits here to come to the defense of his employer and friends then speaks down to people in an unnecessary and sometimes arrogant manor." I have taken part in many discussions and shared my thoughts as well inside information to tell another side of a story. I never speak on behalf of NHRA or anyone else, but I am sometimes privy to things that most aren't and when I think that information will add to a discussion I share it.

The Greg thing is simply a professional courtesy. I spent a few years in the Pro Stock business, had Greg come to our shop he wouldn't have been allowed in either. That's why I called before just showing up. Had it been Bob Frey calling I think he would have been invited over, but Bob has never built a Pro Stock engine, so he would be looked at differently as a visitor. Many people have been to that shop, other engine guys, not so much.

I hope you have a Great weekend!
Now back to the rain at Z-Max

Alan
