Anyone know how the tracks are doing in those areas? Also thinking of Garlits' museum in Seffner. Man, one storm after another....

It's been crazy down here (I'm in Broward County). Thankfully we got our supplies ahead of time so we're prepared. I am hoping that Broward is spared from the worst of it so we don't lose power for weeks.

Garlits is in Ocala. It's been crazy all over the state. Traffic jams,no water, short on gasoline.....

I'm on the way to Charlotte and I have had good weather all the way from Southern Cal until I hit Alabama and it has been windy and pouring rain all the way to where I'm staying tonight about 50 miles from Atlanta. It looks like it is going to clear up Tue night and be nice and sunny on Wed set up day.

Be Safe Eugene, Please, Please... Don't bring the rain with you to the Grove!!

I'm in Broward county. There was a lot of wind but everything seems OK. We still don't have power but all around us does. The Keys got it pretty bad and the Islands down south did too. It could have been worse.

Gainesville Raceway was spared. They had to cancel racing but left a gate open so racers could store their rigs. Looked on their web site, said they are above sea level so they didn't flood.

I lost power on Saturday night which was the 9th and it came back on four day's later. Cable and internet service came on a few day's later.

Finding food and gas stations with gas is a major problem in Florida. It's strange to go into a Super Walmart and see nothing on the shelves in the food section or other parts of the store.

My family left during the night before Hurricane Irma hit and drove 22 hours straight to Dallas and I stayed on the west coast with my home.
The only problem they had on the drive was parts of I-10 were still underwater from Hurricane Harvey 12 days before Irma hit Florida so they went north through Mississippi until they reached I-20 West

Once I lost power that was the end of hearing any more news coverage of the hurricane until the next few day's when a friend contacted me and said the eye of the hurricane passed very close to my town.

No major damage to my home but the area around me looks like it took a hard hit with many roads closed due to down trees and electric lines laying on the roads.

The guys that fixed the power to my home had come all the way from a power company in Maine to help restore power.

Article in the Arizona Republic this morning about the cheapest place to buy a new or used car, & Florida right up there on top. Would have to think twice about buying a used car there. :p

Another thing to remember when purchasing a used car either in Texas or Florida after the hurricanes is these cars were underwater in many cases so the computer under the drivers seat is history.

Cost to replace a computer in any of these late model cars is somewhere between 2,500 and up and then you get to have it towed to a dealer who will charge another $350.00 to $500 to reprogram everything.

I had a friend who had a New Chevrolet truck that broke down and the towing company some how towed it the wrong way and killed the automatic transmission.
His warranty would not cover the damage because they said it was the towing companies fault and the towing company was dragging their feet saying they did nothing wrong.

Since he needed the truck fixed for work he decided to take it to a friends transmission shop to get it rebuilt.
Next problem he ran into was because the truck was only a year old they do not make a rebuild kit for it. The solution purchase a brand new transmission for just over $7,0000 dollars.

Once the new transmission was installed they called him to tell him to send over a roll off truck to pick up his truck to take it back to the Chevrolet Dealer so they can now program the computer to except the new transmission! The dealer charged him just under $500.00 dollars.
