Wow thx for a whole half hr show this sunday for the finals, lol.

The replay is on ESPN 360 right now...so far I am noticing some new camera angles....very well done! I especially like some of the top end shots after the runs.

You are aware that NHRA pays for the time, right? That ESPN doesn't choose when/how much to show, they have a rate card with available time and NHRA just buys that time? That NHRA paid for all the dead air over the weekend, and each additional show costs more $$? That NHRA lost their shirt on this event, and some big three hour show would be throwing good money after bad? That the production company hired by NHRA to produce the show had to pack up and be on the other side of the country (Daytona), so there's little video to show anyway?

No need for logic.
I was glad to hear we get that half hour on an off weekend too. I was guessing we might get highlights during Phoenix. This is good.

Let's go back to waiting 2 to 3 weeks for a segmented show. Let's have an hour-long show dedicated to, not only NHRA, but to weight-lifting and barrel racing. Just when you see a good run and interview, the show cuts to some muscle-bound dude snatching 600 lbs. at a time. When the show comes out of break and you think they will cut back to drag racing- you get horses running around an arena. AND YOU SUFFER THROUGH THAT JUST TO GET A GLIMPSE OF YOUR DRIVER MAKING A RUN!

People should be happy to have what we have. It can always be worse!

Man Alan, remember those days? I do. Late 60's to at least the mid '70s, I think Indy would get aired in late, late fall, and you really didn't see much. They would go back and forth a few times during an hour show, alternating with, as you said, 1 or 2 other sports. Different world back then, we literally waited for 2 weeks for ND to tell us who won an event!

One of the things they had back then were some way-cool camera angles. They had the cameras mounted at about 1400', two cameras mounted right above each individual lane. You could see AND hear the cars coming. From that angle you would actually hear the motor winding up, not just loud pedal music. That angle gives you a better feel of the speed and HP of these machines.

The thrill of victory I liked, it was the agony of decrap that really sucked:D

Can someone tell me why it is,when I go to a t.v program titled winternationals 2009 all I see is poker for an hour. When it was pomona finals I was hoping to watch. I,m sure it,s happened to us all. I,m lookin to lay some blame somewhere, just to make me feel better.

ive been staying off the mater since tuesday because i wanted to watch the race, and all i got was a lousy half hour!!!!!!!!! but at least it was great! greg anderson- national record! and jason line wins and doug kalitta wins= totally awesome!!!!!!!!!

Actually if they did the whole tv show that way i would be a happy camper !
i thought it was good and right to the point.

I am sooooo thankful for the show. I did miss Mike Dunn's commentary, but overall, it was great! ESPECIALLY Doug Kalitta's win!!! I loved the shot of Jim hugging the team on the starting line and the shot of him hugging Douggie at the end of the track made me cry!

I guess Scott will be along for the ride in that car for the rest of the season! That was Scott's cockpit in the dragster that Douggie drove (per Paul Page's comment. I have not verified that with my brother yet, but I hope that Paul was correct in that statement.) It has been front-halved and back-halved. I am sure Scott will be pushing Douggie along to more wins.

The only thing that was missed on the tv coverage was the "punch in the gut"!!! Dang!
