I think he died in 2007 or thereabouts. So about 15 years ago........

I always remember Eric giving the thumbs up sign in photos. Seemed like a great guy.

Went to my first NHRA event at the Finals in 2006. After I got my photo with Eric (with the thumbs up!) he noticed the accent and asked if I was Aussie.
He said that 'the boss' loved Australia and he hoped to go down there one day and match race against him, back where it all began.
Spoke for a few minutes and he was such a happy, kind soul. Thinking of you, Eric - ice cream on the menu tonight.

It was a somber day. IHRA had a National event in San Antonio that weekend and several NHRA cars were there. I remember Cruz' car being worked on and there were a lot of folks looking at the cages on their cars. It was also my Mom's 93rd birthday and her last here with us. Eric was quite a guy.

Will never forget the day of his accident. It was also the day of my father's funeral.

Hard to lose your parents. My dad was only 65 when he died. Mom lived to be 87. I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
