I read all the deaths in the 65-69 and 70-74 years and I was amazed how many drivers were killed in more or less "stock" cars (not so many dragsters, funny cars, etc as I would think) at relatively slow speeds, and how many were from the driver being thrown from the car as the car rolled 2-3-4 times. Looks like seats and seat belts were not nearly as good then as they were years later. Also, I noted how many drivers were in their late teens and early twenties, while later after reading about the deaths in the 2010-2020 years, how many drivers died that were in their 40's and 50's. Some even older.
