OK, so maybe it's not 1320', maybe not 1000', maybe not even 660'...
The HDRA (Holeshot Drag racing Association) has been holding weekly 100' (yes 100 foot) drag racing events in CT this year. Because of the distance, they can be run a circle tracks all over the state, and they are looking to expand to as many tracks that will have them.
They had a new event today at Thompson Speedway (A NASCAR track in Northeast CT) and since it was a short 30 minute drive and I haven't had any seat time in about two years, I gave it a shot.
Ok, so it's definitely not comparable to quarter mile drag racing, but they had a decent turnout of cars, and a bunch of great people putting it on.
Bottom line it was a blast, met some nice people and had fun!
