Dodge Demon

It's very common for a car to establish an index that's well slower than the car is capable of running. Happens every day. Just go to the track and run 10.25. If you can do it every time and leave with the same reaction time you might make some of that $85,000.00 back.

This is something we went through 17 years ago with the Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle. It would run in the 9s right from the dealer and required a license and full letherts, etc. That played a huge part in advancing street racing where no special license is required. Same will happen with these cars. People will race them on the street without cages , nets, and the rest.

That is hilarious Jay ... don't you think the total cost (vs a busa) will knock that down a little? How many people do you know with $80k to throw at a single seat toy that also don't care too much about committing a felony? I think the distance between the two dots you connected is a bit large. I think way more than half of them are going to go straight into storage ...
 
I don't think a big percentage will go into storage. I think many will be bought and owned short term. But, who knows? I just think it's badass that the factories are building these awesome cars.
 
IMO the guys that are inclined to buy this car will drive it, not a daily driver but a weekend fair weather toy. They said the same thing when the Hellcat was released and here in central Ohio I see them daily. Look at the number of Hellcats sold, far exceeded Dodge expectations, this car is not that much more money when you get to those numbers.

As far as a single seater the passenger seat and back seat are options that cost 1 dollar each, not going to break the bank.

As mentioned by Armand, you can go online and read it, or pay for a printed copy. You can also download a PDF copy to your computer, and print off the pages pertinent to you.

I actually agree with this move. Why waste money and resources on something that's out of date almost as soon as you get it in the mail? The online version is usually up to date.

I wonder how many could actually run into the 9's with "Joe Average" at the wheel. I used to run my sport bike at the drags occasionally and I saw a LOT of bikes that ran 10's in the magazines run 11's or worse in real life. Same with our local track here in Southern Oregon I see a heck of a lot more Mustang GT's running HIGH 14's or worse than I do running what the media gets.
 
Yes everything will have to be just right to get the mid 9's. My understanding Leah was driving for the 9.65 so if i was in the car, with the same exact pass, probably a 9.80 to start, much heavier than her. Track prep, air density, its possible but not likely. I have also heard from people present at the testing that there was more left in the car. Time will tell as soon as they hit the streets.

after all the stories showing the Tesla beating the Hellcats off the starting line, Mopar did the right thing....they added computer controlled 90/10 shocks, line lock and trans brake, besides the a/c switching to cool the intake.
It's amazing they were able to engineer all of to work so well and sell it with a VIN and warranty.
