When you guys are referring to the HEMI in pro stock are you talking about the HEMI from the 70's or the WEDGE that is called a HEMI in today's cars, I know ford makes a real HEMI, 4 cam 32 valve Cyote V-8, have heard GM has one also

COPO Camaros come with a roll cage. Dodge should do the same for the Demon, especially since they make no bones about it being a street legal race car capable of incredible performance.
I might be wrong but i dont think Copo Camaros come with a title so you cant register them to drive on street.

As well as the Cobra Jet Mustangs, I believe they are drag race only factory cars.

All the Demon needs is a full 10 pt roll cage (not bar) a set of safety belts, the driver needs the correct pants and jacket and it's ready to go run at any track.

it already has the other necessary equipment that the Drag Pak and COPOs don't have....A/C, stereo, reactive suspension, catalytic converters, carpets, spare tire and jack, sun visors, cup holders....you know a place to put your Slurpee before you rip off another 9 second pass

At 9:60 I think it needs;;
seat belts, flywheel and transmission shield, roll cage, perhaps a parachute, certified chassis etc
all certified by SEMA. Isn't that super gas speeds and et's?

It would need the trans and flexplate shield, but the chassis could be run as produced by Dodge.

I totally agree with NHRA, looking forward to see how chassis builders apply the roll cage to this car.

Maybe someone can answer, I rejoined NHRA as a member this year and wondered do they issue rule books to members, I know a long time ago they did but this time i havent recieved one.

Nope no more free rulebook with membership. You can log online and read it and I am not sure but you maybe able to buy a printed copy.

not only is this car banned from nhra, but it also does not need nhra to sell itself, nor does it's cousins or the mustang or camaro. race sunday, sell monday is now only an overused and dated cliche'......not a knock on nhra. it's just how it is now.

IMO not going to make it to the track, "rich" people are going to scoop up all 3000 and store them rarely being driven.
Also there are a lot of tracks besides NHRA sanctioned ones, thats where the "street" racing is going to take place

Considering it cost $85K I'd go find a real race car that already has the safety equipment to play with, and it probably would come with a trailer.

The car isn't banned from NHRA you could come out and run 10 flat all day long, no problem. But as soon as you run 9.anything then you need to comply with the safety standards that any other car running 9s would have to comply with. Any of the new generation muscle cars are allowed to run 10.000 and slower with no modifications to the car. You could take one to the track and play with it all day.

Some of you are making it sound as if you would show up with one and be sent home, and that's not the case. Just keep it in the 10s.

Yep, just run it to the 1/8th or 1000' mark and let off. Pretty easy to extrapolate the 1/4 info from there, if so desired.
