makes it official. . . top fuel won't be the same to watch. .

I'm completely blindsided by this news! I can't believe there weren't any rumors of this. /sarc :p

Finally something concrete. Will be very interested to see who takes those two drivers' seats and where Larry ends up.

I'm just wondering if "Alanabi" will still be on AJR's cars next year....

From Al Anabi home page:
Congratulations to Del Worsham and the Al-Anabi Gold Crew for winning the 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Top Fuel Championship. We are still finalizing our plans for the 2012 season. Moving into next season with our two car team, we will continue to bring awareness of our great sport onto the international scene, continue to build championship teams, and give our fans an amazing show. We will be updating the content of this site so visit often. Check out our action shots, shop at our online store, get all our race news, schedules, and results right here... Happy Holidays to you and yours, AJ

From AJR/Al Anabi press release:
With driver Del Worsham’s retirement on Nov. 21, Al-Anabi Racing must now fill two driver’s seats as the team will field two Top Fuel cars for the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season. Additional announcements will be forthcoming.

Looking more like Langdon and Balooshi. Dixon? Several places he could wind up. JFR. DSR. Kalitta....or perhaps a brand new team.

This Alan Johnson quote from the press release is very intriguing to me:

“As difficult as some decisions can be, there are times when they become necessary but can be best for everyone involved. I am proud to have raced with Larry, and I have great respect for his driving ability. I know I speak for everyone at Al-Anabi Racing when I wish him all the best.”

Sounds like the decision to cut Larry Dixon may have come from above AJ?
Or maybe the new (smaller) budget wouldn't support the salary required to retain 2 NHRA World Champions?

She's breaking some big ground with a rumor that has been rolling around completely unfounded for about a month.

This talk isnt new......Not saying, but Larry wants his own team....we will all see......The people with all the money are getting greedy and dont wanna spend it all on NHRA......That should be the first clue. Something in this sport/business need to change or drag racing is in serious trouble......//T.V time.....Kenny gone,Snake gone...... Think about it people!!!
