Sucks big time for Cruz. It put a bunch of holes out just before it went kaboom. NHRA dodged one there. Part of the body landed just in front of the stands. Coulda been a bad thing.

I can't imagine how even a well-funded team absorbs the cost of a few blown up bodies and engines, let alone a more moderately-funded team like Pedregon's. I love funny cars more than any other class, but it's also got to be one of the most expensive when things start going wrong.
