I know what ya mean. I've been fortunate enough to be at several "history making" moments in our sport. (and one near miss, doesn't count)
I'll never forget.

Makes me think of the folks that saw "THE RUN" live. They'll never forget either.
If I recall they all but had Kalitta's name ingraved on the trophy, the only one with any chance
to catch him was Tony Schumacher. BUT he needed Kalitta to go out early, (unlikely but happened). Then he (Tony) also needed to do everything. Tony had to: win every rd,
win the final, set a record, back up the record, walk the dog , and take out the trash. (LOL)................. and he DID.
