Dave Anderson in the Pollution Packer Rocket car was killed after a crash while making a pass, and having parachute problmes. He went over the pit wall and hit a dragster and it's crew, and killed one or two of the crew.
The pit road was set up as an 1/8 mile strip.

Might want to edit the name Darr - it says Darrell.
Just like those cars aren't made to go straight - a dragster (any of the pro cars) wouldn't even be able to go around most of the round tracks.

My point, which it looks like everyone missed... Jamie said a nascar ran 10.64... N.A.S.C.A.R. is the sanctioning body, not the type of car... heck, I'll bet if you ask a dozen NASCAR 'fans' what it means, they won't know...
that's why I said take a nhra across the street... and I was thinking on the tri-oval, not the pit road... you think Mister Light would run out of breath halfway to turn one?

All of the cup cars now are the same "Car of Tomorrow" cars. The decals are different to reflect different manufacturer sponsorships, but they are all NASCAR mandated cookie cutter car bodies. They all have to fit the exact same body templates. Every Ford, Chevy, Dodge and Toyota uses the same skin. In this case, the sanctioning body is also the type of car.

I wouldn't call two different NAPA V.I.P. functions awkward times. He couldn't have cared less to be at either. Amazing too, since he's such a sponsor suck up.

Coughlin teaches NASCAR friends how to drive his racecar
CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 11) -- A special feature starring reigning POWERade Pro Stock champion Jeg Coughlin Jr., Dave Connolly and NASCAR stars Clint Bowyer and Kenny Wallace will air this Sunday on two different Speed TV programs that support the channel's NASCAR coverage.
NASCAR Raceday, Speed TV's prerace show, begins at 11 a.m., while Speed Report begins at 7 p.m. Both programs will have segments entitled "How to drive a Pro Stock car," which was recently filmed at zMax Dragway at Concord.
In the feature, Coughlin and Connolly teach their two NASCAR counterparts how to drive a 1,400-horsepower Chevrolet Cobalt on the drag strip. Both men performed several burnouts and launches for the show, Wallace in a JEGS.com-branded hot rod and Bowyer in a Jack Daniels-themed machine.
"We had a blast filming this deal," Coughlin said. "I think both Kenny and Clint have a newfound respect for the cars we drive. I've been driving for a long time and it's still a charge for me every time I drop the clutch so I know how these guys felt when we turned them loose. They both had big smiles on their faces all day."

Capps and Waltrip then helped get Pro Stock driver Jeg Coughlin into position for his run. He turned in a 10.346 at 137.39.
