Commisso No. 11 in Madison (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]MADISON, Ill. (May 2, 2009) - R2B2 Racing driver Raymond Commisso drove to the number 11 qualifying spot in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge presented by ProCare Rx at the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Fresh off the trailer, Commisso blasted to a 6.085/238.22 that proved to be his best hit of the day. In the second round, his ProCare Rx/R2B2 Motors '68 Camaro Z/28 got loose at half-track, but the Toronto-native was able to get the car back into the groove and salvage the run for a 6.104/237.84.

"We weren't sure how things would look today after being rained out yesterday, but the track was definitely there," Commisso explained. "We really wanted to get after it more in the second round, and I know that Al [Billes, crew chief] had every intention of putting up a low six or high five, but it just wasn't there at the end of the day.

"We're a little off our game right now because we're chasing a gremlin in the engine, but we think we've figured out the issues and we're ready for tomorrow," Commisso said.

Commisso will face fellow Canadian Kenny Lang in the first round of eliminations scheduled to begin Sunday morning.
