I've recently come contact with Pappy's granddaughter, Megan and her Mom, Joanie, Pappy's daughter.

I'll see what I can dig up. I've got a couple of things about Pappy. Let's just say that he was generous to the racers that patronized his speed palace. I know for a fact that he would give money away to struggling racers at the end of an event. I was with a team that ran a A/FMR(Read Modified Roadster with a Nitro Chrysler) and after we won an event at Lions during which you could read the name of the team from the starting line, he came by our pit area and gave one of the owners a hand full of money and said, 'Here, go buy some tires and don't come back until you have them on the car!' That was a big deal to us and certainly paid for something we couldn't afford that week!
