The definition of insanity comes to mind here: doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different result. If you keep changing managers in a baseball team and get no success, you have to wonder is the problem somewhere else. Is it the GM, the on-field talent, the coaches, the scouting, the level of investment, the organizational structure, the culture, etc.
I realize that there are some variables here that can't be changed, for example there is unlikely to be another driver brought in for Morgan. But that doesn't appear to be the issue. He hasn't lost on a holeshot all year, his RTs look to be in the middle of the pack, along with his leaves first %, and so on. The most common phrase in the NHRA results when it comes to Lucas is "hazes the tires...".
Nonetheless, at some point you have to ask yourself, what is at the root of the issues here? And maybe change some part of the equation other than the crew chief...
