He's probably praying he doesn't get Scotty K. in the first round again on Sunday.
It would be awesome to see Capps, Ace and the Brut team win the title, but I bet Force and Coil will bust out with an even bigger can of 14-time Champion whoop-ass.

Didnt Tony Ped win the Championship a couple of years ago and Force was second? And if my memory serves me correct, TP beat him in the last couple of races when John could have caught him.

Like I said, is this the first he's WON heads up? I mean isn't it common knowledge that in the past John has tanked the chances of his other teams/drivers to benefit him in the points. And it seems to me that in 2006 John Force earned this championship in every since of the word. Going head to head, straight up vs. other JFR cars.

Are you under the assumption that, since his first championship, John has always had multiple cars with which to compete? That would be an incorrect assumption and insinuating he's always used team members to insure his own wins since he added the second car would be grossly incorrect. For well over a decade, he's had the car to beat. Are you so blinded by the dive principal that you can't see he holds nearly every record? Do you also believe a teammate's dive could somehow actually assist in his breaking the national record over and over again?
Might there be some room to admit he's the best or do you really believe his success has come at the hands of treating team cars like red-headed step children? Like his sponsors would stay on as loyal as they have been if he did what you are alluding to?
I think not!
Do you also think OJ is really innocent?

let's see Champ in '90, '91, '93 (13 wins?) and '94 on til Tony won in '03... first 4 or 5 championships were won as a single car...

Doc, we ALL know Force is the best(except 1989 and before, 1992, 2005) but you must admit some things went on.

With the team car concept so popular these days is diving really any different than the team car blocking competitors by winning rounds against other team's points leaders?

I would fully expect to see some diving these last two races in T/F and F/C.
I would also not fault them one bit for so doing. This has been a long fought season and every point has been won with blood. Why throw all that away with an obvious gimmie offered by a team mate at a crucial point?
Just don't lie to us when we know darned well what's going on.

What was Tony P. insinuating when he made his remarks regarding the situation?
The sponsors? Well, AFAICS, JFR has only 2 big sponsors and a bunch of associate sponsors. The SYNTEC car is castrol, so that is a moot point. AAA of SoCal, ahhh......it's late, and I'm beat....will type at ya tomorrow.
BTW: all you Force fans, please don't take this personal! Just having a convo 'bout racin'. What do the kids nowadays say? "Don't hate the player, hate the game". OJ is guilty!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it just pisses me off when people act like Force bought every championship or had them given to him. Like Doc said, he didnt even have a team car until the late 90's. And also like Doc said, even with his team car included, no one was ever close to him. He has always had the car to beat. It hasnt been until the last 3,4 years that the others have even got remotely close. I am not saying that team orders havent played a role before but you still have to beat the other 14 cars on race day and he's done that more than anyone. Beating your teammate the 5 times or so a year that you race isint going to make you a champion. So no, this isint the first championship Force has actually won.

You're taking this the wrong way folks. I'm congratulating Force. He raced heads up all year, and proved he can beat the entire Funny Car Field by doing so. With the onslaught of multiple car teams like Force helped usher into the sport, John's operation has proved that they are again on top of FC.

I know John didn't win all his championships by deflating the chances of his other cars. Yes, there was a time when that was done in recent history. But it looks like those days are over.

Congrats to all JFR fans.

And that hurts for Capps fan to say!
