I bought this one on eBay:

Works crappy, it produces pixelation and choppy sound. Then, during the upload to youtube, it pixelates even more.
This is a sample of some old VHS I had and converted:

I purchased a VHS to DVD machine recently, this one:

Gonna try it soon and see what it does. From there, I can put the DVD into the computer and load it onto the hard drive.

I wish I knew how all those people upload clear, good quality VHS to youtube digital. A video capture card? IDK.

*Edit: Ah, Brian tree'd me. I did try the Dazzle, but at the time, it did not work with Vista. Also, possibly my computer probably was not up to par with enough memory at the time.

If you want to mail me the VHS tape I can do it for you.

Is it a long movie, or just a short clip?

I've had great luck with an older dazzle model, the files are HUGE, but Windows Movie Maker let's you scale them down.

I've since moved to a Mac, and haven't found anything I'd risk money on trying yet.
