The first time I worked a race in Houston, I went to the track souvenir stand to see what they had. Up in a corner was a very cool looking sweatshirt, with a $20 price tag on it. I thought that was a real bargain for a sweatshirt, so I asked the lady behind the counter if she had one in XL. She looked at me real funny, and said "yeass". I said "good, I'll take one". She looked at me real funny again, and said "yall must not be from round heeer, it don't get cold nuff to wear one of those round heeer". :)

Blowing snow and icy roads all day here in Colorado Springs, temps in the single digits to mid teens....
first time I got off the plane in houston it was like getting hit in the face with a wet bath towel. Had a layover and all that was on tv in the airport was evangelists begging for money, nice people there though!! LOL

............Good morning Maters, wake up tempeture this morning in North Idaho is 6 degree's which is supposed to drop to 0 degree's along with a slight wind chill factor, which might bring it down below 0, anyhow ya'll enjoy your day

That couldn't be right Steve we are suffering from global warming! Right?

Hey Kelly, too bad you didn't go to the Houston race in '89! Sunday was cancelled due to a Bad Coldfront that came through overnight. The Chill factor was close to ZERO! I wasn't there but about 3 people who were there including Greg Rice said it in the 70's the day before! I can't imagine it ever getting below freezing in Houston, much less ZERO!

Joe, I was at that race and your right, it was horrible. Sat was sunny and warm, a really nice day. Bad weather blew in over night and it was down right freezing the next morning. I will never forget sitting in the stands with a freaking cardboard trashcan that we cut and put around us to try and keep us warm early in the morning.

OK get this. I drive 36 miles SW to work. When I left the house it was 71 (thermostat in my car). By the time I hit downtown it was 62. When I got to work it was 50.....and dropping. Yeah, I'd say the 'arctic blast' is here. ;)

Its pretty cold here in Austin!!! The temp as of 10:30 this morning is 33 and was still falling!!! The front blew thru Austin aroung 4:00 this morning and the wind woke us up. We live in a new subdivision within about a football field distance from the model homes, so we hear the flags whipping pretty good when bad weather rolls in!!! Luckily, I am on vacation this week and dont have to deal with the outside weather...I work outdoors so its REALLY nice being home:D

All of ya need to spend some time up north where it's actually cold.

Its been -18 for the last 5 days here, with a windchill of -47. It's been down to -26 at night. It just warmed up to a downright balmy 0 today and yes this is in Fahrenheit.... 3' of snow on the ground as well. My truck hasn't been out of 4x4 for a month now.

I bet most of you have never had to plug your car in before.

With the temperatures you are having, that makes our 36 degrees not seem quite so bad but it sure is cold to us!!!

No, I have never had to plug my car in but I did lock my keys in my car today with it running while it was raining & I was on the outside looking in at my purse with my spare set of keys in it & I still don't know how I managed that!!
