BURGESS FALLS SHORT IN BRISTOL QUALIFYING

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Roger Burgess fought his way through three qualifying sessions at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn., and though his efforts were valiant, he missed the sixteen-car Jegs Pro Modified field.

Burgess, the freshman driver who had qualified in his first four Pro Modified events, was disappointed for his team.

“We worked extremely hard but it just wasn’t meant to be,” Burgess said. “We are disappointed because we are a competitive team but this is an unfortunate part of drag racing we never like, but if you race long enough you’re bound to experience a DNQ.

“We’ll rebound and we’ll be back ready to qualifying and go some rounds at the next event.”

Burgess concluded the weekend as the 19th quickest with a 6.348 elapsed time.
