Bruce Litton Accident (1 Viewer)

Thank's for the welcome David. I looked at Bruces website and see no updates or news. I'll keep checking it every day.

Pete, its a well known fact that Mass General Hospital has many specialists on duty at all times. I'm not familiar with the area Hospitals as you would be, they may be just as good. Just maybe it was requested he go there. I'm hoping he is OK.

What looked to happen was a right rear tire failure, but it was difficult to see with all the smoke. So, I did receive a tape of the accident and it looked like on his last pedal (last of 5), the rear of the car swung around ultra-quick and the tire went down at the same time (or it caused the rear to swing)...anyway, once he impacted the wall it was spectacular. The car hit right at the seam between two of the jersey barriers and pushed them back roughly 4-5 feet, then the car rode the wall for another 600' before coming to a stop. The right side of the motor was ground down, due to riding the wall and parts flew everywhere, especially into the pits.

Thankfully the crew was right on him and had him extracated in a very smooth and careful manner. It was very scary to say the least. Thankfully, he is looking good and will be back home soon.

Sounds like he's quite fortunate to not be more seriously injured ! Best wishes to Bruce.

Liton Update

LITTON CONTINUES RECOVERY FROM EPPING ACCIDENT

(9-12-2006) - Bruce Litton is still a patient at Massachusetts General in Boston following his accident on Sunday. The Top Fuel driver from Indianapolis underwent surgery on his shoulder Monday and is expected to stay two more days as doctors ponder whether or not to perform a skin graft on the gash to his right arm.

Litton is extremely sore but in good spirits despite a cracked bone in his elbow and the effects of a concussion. He could be released on Wednesday.

Man, It keeps getting worse. It's starting to sound like that injury to his arm is pretty bad... Get well soon Bruce.

It's better than what Pete heard and worse than what I read. Sounds like he's got a couple of bad weeks ahead but he'll be back in the saddle soon.

That arm must be pretty damn sore.
