Its a sad day for us Packer fans. I have never seen a Packer game that Farve hasn't played in. Football is going to be different to watch without him.

But he's had a great career.

I made a tribute to his career.
YouTube - Brett Favre

I've always been a Giants fan, but I have to admit, Brett Favre was a special guy to watch on the football field & he will be missed... Nice tribute video.

Brett is probably my favorite QB. It is an end of an era....Sundays won't be the same, but I wish him well and I'm sure his family will be happy to have the time with him!

Favre has always been one of my favs too. The same thing that could get him in trouble sometimes, made him brilliant. His desire, energy and just the way he played the game is something we all should strive for in whatever we do.

After the Cowboys were eliminated, I was really rooting for the Packers to win it all. Brett Favre is truly a class act!

Wow I'm gonna be the evil guy here, I'm not a Bret fan. I think partly because the overhyping of everything he did by the media. According to some sportscasters he could walk on water.

I have found it funny how many people have ranked him as one of the top 3 qb's ever? I'll give him top 10.

Of course I would have loved to have had him over any of the qb's the Lions have had over the years :)

Of course the last couple years with him playing the team about retiring got old too. I honestly don't expect this to last. If Rogers starts out bad this season I bet Farve makes a return.

I vote with PJ here. Brett does not come across to me as one who will be satisfied to sit in the skybox and be content.

It was known he was highly disappointed in the Packer's failure to sign Randy Moss, a move he's been actively pushing for two years now, and was vocally upset about.

I do not believe that the timing of his announcement, such as it was, coming a couple of days after Moss re-signed with the Pats is a coincidence.

Take heart Packer fans. I believe you may see him on the field again.

It may not be in Green and Gold however...........

one of the best ever.
too bad he played for the wrong team :p

favre and madden in booth together?

Hey...I don't know if you've all heard about this but according to ESPN...aka "The Week-long Coverage of Brett Farve's Retirement Network", Brett Farve is retiring.

Good God! Could they milk this anymore?

In all seriousness as a Bears fan I'm glad to see him go. However, as a fan of pure football in general and the respect for a player who's love of the game was at the forefront, I'm sad to see him go. He was the epitome of a "Gamer".
