BRETT STEVENS BIG SHOW READY FOR SUMMER SIZZLER

The Western Sydney International Dragway is set to sizzle this weekend (15th-16th February) when it hosts the Summernationals, attracting all the biggest names in Australian Drag Racing including Brett 'The Boss' Stevens and his entire racing outfit of 7 Group One vehicles.

Currently the Brett Stevens Racing 'super team' amazingly leads 3 out of the headig Top Alcohol in his Kitten Car Care Products Funny Car, Troy Mclean showing the way in Top Bike on his Jack Daniel's Racing Nitro Harley, and Pete Cochrane on top of the Pro Stock Bike ladder with the S&S Powered Buell.

With only the teams Top Doorslammers missing from the leader board, a rigorous 3 day testing schedule for the cars was planned around a busy calendar of exhibition events in the lead up to the Summernationals.

However unusually wet weather has hampered the preparations for the Queensland based team with their testing being reduced to just one full day on the track.

Despite this Stevens still believes that it was an extremely successful exercise in getting the massive horsepower that his Jack Daniel's Racing and SP Racing Ford Falcons are making to the race track and climbing up the Top Doorslammer leader board.

"To go into the back half of the ANDRA Championship season with my team in the incredible situation of leading 3 Group One brackets is an amazing tribute to my great crew, drivers and riders," Stevens said.

"But there is still a long way to go yet in the series and a lot of very tough competition out there all vying for the top positions."

"In saying that though we still also have an eye on creating a lot of waves in Top Doorslammer ourselves, which is why we have put our testing emphasis on these cars."

"The Falcons are just making so much power that we have had to try quite a few new innovations to get this to the race track, and despite our testing being reduced to just one day, we have made huge inroads and I think we might surprise some in Sydney."

"Zap (John Zappia) is currently the form racer and is out on top with a little bit of a buffer at the moment, but there is still plenty of racing left to bridge the gap."

Brett Stevens Racing team crew chief and driver of the SP Racing Top Doorslammer is also happy with the progression made and is confident that with the new data and setups, he will be running personal best times at the Summernationals.

"The Brett Stevens Racing team has really shown its class this season and now it is time for us to put in the performances with the Doorslammers," Packman said.

"It (Top Doorslammer) is undoubtable the toughest and most competitive professional Drag Racing bracket in the country and we want to show that we at the top of this as well."

"With the extra horsepower we have our engines making now, tuning them has been very frustrating at times, but after some solid testing with some new ideas we think we have come up with a combination that looks like it is close to be being right on the money."

"I can't wait to get our there and have the SP Racing Falcon right up there in the mix towards the top of the field."
