BRETT STEVENS RACING STUNNING SUMMERNATIONALS

Nearly 12 months to the day since Drag Racing Champion Brett ‘The Boss’ Stevens stunned the world by making three Group 1 finals appearances at the same event, his team has gone one better at the Western Sydney International Dragway last the weekend (February 16-17) by making an amazing four Group 1 finals out of the four professional brackets in which they competed in at the Summernationals.

Stevens himself lead the charge by taking out the Top Doorslammer category in his 3000 horsepower Jack Daniel’s Racing Falcon, running a personal best time of 6.01 seconds over the quarter mile strip. He also came out of the event with the runner up trophy in Top Alcohol driving his Kitten Car Care Products Funny in his second Final of the night.

Adding to Stevens personal success was team mate Dion Prowse’s win aboard the S&S powered Pro Stock Buell in the Pro Stock Motorcycle category, keeping his undefeated record intact with four wins from four events, and Troy McLean’s second place aboard his Jack Daniel’s Racing Nitro Harley in Top Bike.

The crew has put in a fantastic effort to make this happen and I would like to congratulate them on a job well done, it would not have been possible without them,” Stevens said.

“It is also great to finally have the Falcon Top Doorslammers running the numbers that we have been trying to get out of them for the last 6 months, the new ideas we have put in place are finally paying off.”

“We now have a combination that can consistently run 6.0 second passes straight down the middle of the track, it feels like the car is on rails.”

“For the next round of the Championship in Perth in two weeks time we will be hoping to step up to these numbers in both the Packy’s (Steven Packman’s) Glenfords Racing Top Doorslammer and Kath’s (Kath Stevens) Jack Daniel’s Racing Top Doorslammer as well.”

In keeping his undefeated status aboard the teams S&S Buell, Dion Prowse’s win all but wrapped up the Australian Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship for him in his debut season with an 80 point lead with just one Round remaining.

The Summernationals win was made even more special with S&S Cycles President Brett Smith and S&S Cycles Senior Manager of Racing Charlie Hadayia over from the USA to witness the event.

“I can’t believe we have won again, this has been a dream run for the Brett Stevens Racing team on the S&S Buell and to have Brett (Smith) and Charlie (Hadayia) over here for the weekend to be apart of the win was fantastic,” Prowse said.

“To be four wins from four events really shows the professionalism of team and the quality of the S&S products”

“I would also like to thank Daniel Peatey for his great show of sportsmanship in allowing me time to start my bike after some start line issues prior to the running the final.”

The Brett Stevens Racing team will next be hitting the track in the Australian Drag Racing Championship at the Perth Motorplex for the Westernationals on March 3-4.
